Descripción general

2,2,2-Trifluoroacetophenone is the starting material for the synthesis of f 3-trifluoromethyl-3-phenyldiazirine[1]. It undergoes asymmetric reduction with optically active Grignard reagent to form 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-phenylethanol[2]. It undergoes condensation with biphenyl, terphenyl, a mixture of biphenyl with terphenyl, phenyl ether and diphenoxybenzophenone to form new aromatic 3F polymers[3].

2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone is used as an organocatalyst for the oxidation of tertiary amines and azines to N-oxidesalkenes.[4]

Aplicación

2,2,2-Trifluoroacetophenone was used in the synthesis of new fluorinated polymers, having high average molecular weight, high thermal stability and good film-forming properties[3].

The synthesis of 3-trifluoromethyl-3-phenyldiazirine (TPD) is reported in an overall yield of 60% based on 2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone as starting material. TPD is rapidly photolyzed on irradiation near 350 nm to yield 35% of the diazoisomer and 65% of the corresponding carbene.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.     1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
