Anti-ADRB2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ADRB2 protein.
Adrenoceptor β 2/β2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2), a transmembrane protein, belongs to the superfamily of G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). This protein is expressed in skeletal muscle, mast cells, lymphocytes, airway smooth muscle, epithelial and endothelial cells of the lung, the smooth muscle of blood vessels, oral and skin keratinocytes. It comprises seven transmembrane domains and three extracellular and three intracellular loops. ADRB2 gene is located on human chromosome 5q32. Anti-ADRB2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ADRB2 protein.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human ADRB2.
Immunogen Range: 201-250
Biochem/physiol Actions
Adrenoceptor β 2/β2 adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) binding to agonist activates Gs protein. Variation in the ADRB2 gene is involved in blood pressure (BP) and body mass index (BMI). ADRB2 is associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Glucocorticoids and catecholamines exert important effects on cardiovascular physiology and metabolism. Variants of the glucocorticoid receptor gene (GRL) and the beta2-adrenergic receptor gene (ADRB2) have been associated with high blood pressure and obesity. These genes are close on human chromosome
