General description

Indole-3-butyric acid is a plant hormone in the auxin family[1] and is widely used in agriculture since it induces rooting[2] in various plants species such as mung bean (Vigna radiata L.) cuttings.[1]

Application

Indole-3-butyric acid may be used as a reference standard in the determination of indole-3-butyric acid in mung bean sprouts using high performance liquid chromatography with chemiluminescence (CL) detection.[3]
