General description

This 30% H2O2 (w/w) is a solution of hydrogen peroxide. Its decomposition in the presence of varying concentrations of zeolites and manganese (catalyst) has been investigated.[1]

Application

This 30% H2O2 (w/w) was employed as a catalyst in a chemical treatment method for industrial waste water contaminated with unconventional oil (oil shale).[2]

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  3. Does this product contain any stabilizers? If so, could you please specify which ones are included? Thank you!

    1 answer
    1. This product is a 30% solution in water. No stabilizer or preservative has been added.

Does not meet the specification of the European Pharmacopoeia.

If the concentration reported in the COA is 31.1% w/w does not meet the specification of the European Pharmacopoeia which says that it should be between 29.0 and 31.0.

    Helpful?

    1. Response from MilliporeSigma:

The specification for the redox titration is currently 29.0 - 31.0% and aligns with the European Pharmacopeia. From 2017-2020 the specification was set incorrectly at 29.0 - 32.0%, there were 4 batches during this time that reported >31.0%. The specification was corrected in 2020, all batches since and all that we have in stock fall within the EP specification of 29.0 - 31.0%. Please call us at 1-800-325-5832 to request a replacement for any lots you received in the past that do not comply.
