The production of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) by the myeloperoxidase-H2O2-Cl- system of phagocytes plays a vital role in the ability of immune cells to kill a wide range of pathogens including bacteria and viruses. Hypochlorous acid is one of the various reactive oxygen species (ROS) including hydroxyradical (・OH), superoxide (O2-・), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), singlet oxygen (1O2), nitric oxide (・NO), and peroxynitrite (ONOO-).
The BioTracker 574 Red HOCL Dye is a fluorescent probe that shows excellent selectivity against hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in living cells. The dye contains fast reactivity, slow photobleaching and is suitable for time-lapse live cell imaging.
Store BioTracker 574 Red HOCL Dye at -20°C, desiccate and protect from light Note: Centrifuge vial briefly to collect contents at bottom of vial before opening.
