Gene Information

human ... CDH1(999)

General description

Anti-E-cadherin Antibody detects endogenous levels of total E-cadherin protein.
CDH1 (cadherin 1) codes for a transmembrane glycoprotein E-cadherin that is located on human chromosome 16q22.1. It is a tumor suppressor gene, which is also known as Cdh1p/Hct1p, Fizzy-related, Ste9, or Srw1.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human E-cadherin.

Immunogen Range: 1-50

Application

Anti-E-cadherin, N-Terminal antibody has been used in protein extraction, western blotting, confocal fluorescence microscopy analysis, immunostaining and co-immunoprecipitation.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CDH1 (cadherin 1) helps to conserve the homophilic cell-cell adhesion in epithelial tissues. Inadequate expression of CDH1 results in colon cancer and renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

In cell cultures, the dispersed phenotype is indicative of the migratory ability. Here we characterized Sal-like 4 (SALL4) as a dispersion factor in basal-like breast cancer. Our shRNA-mediated SALL4 knockdown system and SALL4 overexpression system revealed that SALL4 suppresses the
