Ribosomal protein S6 kinase, 70kDa, polypeptide 1 (RPS6KB1) belongs to the AGC kinase subfamily and comprises a catalytic domain, a linker region, and a putative autoinhibitory domain, in addition to the N-terminal and C-terminal domain. The RPS6KB1 gene is located on human chromosome 17q23.1. It exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splice events.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human p70 S6 Kinase.
Immunogen Range: 195-244
Application
Anti-p70 S6 Kinase antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting (1:1000).[1]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Ribosomal protein S6 kinase, 70kDa, polypeptide 1 (RPS6KB1) undergoes acetylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination. It is involved in a variety of functions including glucose homeostasis, cell survival, and proliferation. RPS6KB1 also participates in cell structure and organization. It is implicated in ovarian cancer progression, muscle hypertrophy, aging, immunity, and memory. RPS6KB1 also regulates the replication and transcription of mumps virus (MuV).

The p70 S6 kinase (p70(S6K)) is frequently active in ovarian and a wide range of cancer types, and it has a crucial role in several processes considered hallmarks of cancer. Therefore, blocking p70(S6K) expression or activity may present a promising
Mumps virus (MuV) caused the most viral meningitis before mass immunization. Unfortunately, MuV has reemerged in the United States in the past several years. MuV is a member of the genus Rubulavirus, in the family Paramyxoviridae, and has a nonsegmented
