Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. Is your polyethylene analytical standard for GPC, with a molecular weight of 2,000, soluble for use in biological studies such as cell assays? If so, could you please provide information on its solubility properties and recommended solvents?"

    1 answer
    1. This product is not water soluble, and it is not intended for use in biological studies. It is slightly soluble in organic solvents such as toluene, xylene and cyclohexane, but none of those are water-miscible. Perhaps the Polyethylene could be used as an aqueous suspension (prepared by sonication), and not as a true solution.

    1 answer
    1. The melting temperature of this PE is not determined. The suitability for use as a melting point standard has not been validated.
