General description

RGS10 (regulator of G-protein signaling 10) is present in brain, thymus and lymph nodes. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

RGS (regulator of G-protein signaling) proteins inhibit G-protein signaling by increasing GTPase activity of the Gα subunits. RGS10 increases GTPase activity of Gαi. RGS10 controls cell survival. In addition, it is down-regulated during acquired chemoresistance in ovarian cancer.
