General description

The gene zinc finger protein-251 (ZNF251) is mapped to human chromosome 8q24.3. It belongs to Krüppel-type C2H2 zinc finger family and contains a KRAB (Krüppel-associated box) domain. ZNF251 is expressed in all tissues with highest levels in cerebellum, kidney, testis, thyroid and fetal brain.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

Zinc finger protein-251 (ZNF251) is suggested to be involved in morphogenesis and differentiation via Krüppel-associated box (KRAB)-ZNF mediated repression of transcription.
