Gene Information

human ... BCL7A(605)

General description

The protein named B-cell CLL/lymphoma 7 protein family member A or BCL7A and encoded by the human gene named BCL7A is protein that interacts with SWI/SNF components (a nucleosome remodeling complex), implicating that BCL7A’s normal function involves chromatin remodeling. BCL7A was original cloned from a chromosomal translocation in a Burkitt lymphoma cell line and appears to be important in B cell malignancy. Overexpression of BCL7A is associated with germinal center phenotype formation in B cells and BCL7A expression is up regulated in CLL and multiple myeloma but lower in mycosis fungoides and peripheral T cell lymphoma. Recent research indicates that BCL7A was expressed at the pro B and T cell stage and persisted through the pre-B and mature B cell stages. BCL7A expression was maintained in late B cell differentiation but down-regulated in late plasma cells and mature T cells. In haematological malignancies, BCL7A protein was present in the majority of precursor and mature B cell lymphomas with increased expression amongst GC-related lymphomas. Mature T cell malignancies did not express BCL7A.

Immunogen

His-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human BCL7A.

Application

Anti-BCL7A Antibody, clone 15C is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody, that targets B-cell CLL/lymphoma 7 protein family member A & has been tested in IHC & Immunofluorescence.
Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:10 dilution from a representative lot detected BCL7A in human tonsil tissue (Prof. G. Roncador, CNIO, Madrid).

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected BCL7A in human lymph node, spleen, and thymus tissue (Prof. G. Roncador, CNIO, Madrid).

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected BCL7A in HEK293 cells transfected with BCL7A, and not in HEK293 cells transfected with SPIB protein (Prof. G. Roncador, CNIO, Madrid).
