General description

CD30 is a transmembrane cytokine receptor belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily. Mature CD30 has a molecular mass of 120 kDa and is derived from a 90 kDa precursor protein (de Bruin, 1995). The extracellular domain of CD30 is homologous to that of TNF receptor superfamily members, whereas there is no homology in teh cytoplasmic domain, suggesting major differences in signaling mechanisms (Falini, 1995). CD30 expression is found on Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (H-RS) cells, and on activated B and T lymphocytes (de Bruin, 1995). The antibody from the Ber-H2 hybridoma cell line was included in the Fourth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens and was found to belong to the CD30 cluster (Schwarting, 1989).

Specificity

Antibody recognizes Human CD30 antigen.

Immunogen

Co-cell line established from a human with Hodgkin′s disease of T-cell lineage.

Application

Milli-Mark Anti-CD30-FITC Antibody, clone Ber-H2 detects level of CD30 & has been published & validated for use in FC.
