Gene Information

human ... HDAC1(3065)
mouse ... Hdac1(433759)

General description

Histone deacetylase 1 is a nuclear enzyme encoded by the Hdac1 gene (also known as HD1, RPD3, MommeD5, Hdac1-ps) in mouse and HDAC1 (also known as GoON-10, RPD3L1) gene in human. Hdac1 plays an important role in epigenetic regulation of gene expression by catalyzing the hydrolysis of N(6)-acetylated histone lysine residues. Hdac1 is also known to deacetylate p53 and thereby downregulate p53 activity.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide (C-EEKPEAKGVKEEVKLA) corresponding to amino acids 467-482 of mouse HDAC1. The immunizing sequence is identical in human.

Application

Anti-HDAC1 Antibody, clone 2E10 is an antibody against HDAC1 for use in Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis A representative lot was used to immunoprecipitate HDAC1 from HeLa cell lysate, followed by immune complex enzyme activity assay using HDAC Assay Kit (Fluorometric Detection), Cat. No. 17-356.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in A431 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected HDAC1 in 10 µg of A431 cell lysate.
