General description

The structure of Isooctyl acrylate consists of eight carbon alkyl esters of acrylic acid. [1]

Application

Isooctyl acrylate may be used to prepare linear copolymers with cinnamoyloxyethyl methacrylate (CEMA) for applications as oil absorbents.[2] Copolymer of isooctyl acrylate /acrylamine (1:1 mole ratio) was studied as a magnetoelastic CO2 sensor With high sensitivity. [3] Isooctyl acrylate (IOA) based copolymers may be used to prepare pressure-sensitive acrylic medical grade adhesives for skin. [4][5]

A remote query magnetoelastic pH sensor comprised of a magnetoelastic thick-film coated with a mass-changing pH-responsive polymer is described. In response to a magnetic query field the magnetoelastic sensor mechanically vibrates at a characteristic frequency that is inversely dependent upon
Crosslinked cinnamoyloxyethyl methacrylate and isooctyl acrylate copolymers as oil sorbers.

Isooctyl acrylate (IOA) monomer is a complex mixture comprised predominantly of isomeric, eight-carbon alkyl esters of acrylic acid. Limited evidence from animal studies suggests that certain acrylate esters may be carcinogenic by the dermal route of exposure. The following studies

This paper presents a wireless, remote query ammonia sensor comprised of a free-standing magnetoelastic thick-film coated with a polymer, poly(acrylic acid-co-isooctylacrylate), that changes mass in response to atmospheric ammonia concentration. The mass of the polymer layer modulates the resonant frequency
