General description

Pyridine-d5 is a deuterated form of pyridine having an isotopic purity of 99atom%D. The reaction between pyridine vapor and heavy water in the presence of a palladium catalyst has been reported to afford pyridine-d5.[1] Infrared (IR), Raman[2] (in the range 300-4000cm-1)[1] and high-resolution (0.06cm-1) FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared) spectral studies[3] of pyridine-d5 have been reported.
