Application

Zirconium(IV) oxychloride (ZrOCl2. 8H2O) octahydrate can be used as:
  •   A precursor for the preparation of polyacrylamide zirconium(IV) iodate material, which is used for the removal of Pb (II) ions from wastewater.[1]
  • A Lewis acid catalyst to synthesize octahydroquinazolinone/thione derivatives by reacting with urea/thiourea, dimedone and aromatic aldehydes.[2]
  • A catalyst to synthesize amido-substituted benzo[b]furans by treating with arylglyoxals, benzamide and phenols via one-pot three-component reaction.[3]
