General description

Aroclor 1248, an environmental pollutant,[1] is a complex mixture of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners, prepared by the chlorination of biphenyl.[2]

Application

Aroclor 1248 may be used as a certified reference standard for the quantification of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in environmental matrices[3] and transformer oil samples[1] using chromatography techniques.
