Pyrosep S-1 septa are made from a PTFE-type elastomer conditioned at 300 °C to minimize bleed. Because they are relatively hard, they must be used with a needle guide (to prevent the needle from buckling) and only at high temperatures. Our adapter rings offer substantial savings by enabling you to use smaller septa.

Our adapter rings offer substantial savings by enabling you to use smaller septa.
Pyrosep™ S-1 is high temperature septa and do not produce ghost peaks during gas chromatography. It is difficult to puncture with a syringe needle and after few injections it might leak. Furthermore, it showed minimum weight loss during thermogravimetric analysis.[1]
