The removal of oxides from copper and silver alloys is effective only in cases of slight oxidations. Massive oxidations will result in no or only a poor effect.
The conditions for testing TICKOPUR RW 77 are as follows: dosage 10%, temperature 60-70 °C, and duration 1-15 minutes. It is necessary to monitor the object carefully for changes in surface, color, etc., about every minute or to test parts with no value. Especially with low alloys, as opposed to higher copper or higher silver alloys, a material attack can occur depending on the type of alloy.
For some alloys with slight oxidations or discoloration, an acidic cleaning agent like TICKOPUR TR 3 can be used with a dosage of 5%, temperature 30-50 °C, and duration 1-15 minutes.
For silver alloys with 925 to 999 fineness, TICKOPUR J 80 U can be used undiluted at 20 °C, normally without ultrasound, with several seconds of immersion, followed by thorough neutralization and rinsing.
