General description

Cerebellar degeneration related protein 2 (CDR2) is an onconeural antigen, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 16p12.1. The encoded protein contains leucine zipper motif involved in protein-protein interaction.

Immunogen

CDR2 (NP_001793, 296 a.a. ~ 404 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cerebellar degeneration related protein 2 (CDR2) plays a vital role in signal transduction and gene transcription. It also facilitates reduction of hypoxic response in renal cell carcinoma. Overexpression of the gene has been observed in breast and ovarian cancer patients.
