Transforming Growth Factor-β1 (TGF β1) is a multifunctional protein that can stimulate or inhibit cellular proliferation. Mesenchymal origin cells are stimulated by TGF β1 while T and B lymphocytes, keratinocytes, hepatocytes and epithelial cells are inhibited by TGF β1. It facilitates in tissue growth and differentiation by participating in myogenesis, osteogenesis, adipogenesis, chondrogenesis, epithelial cell differentiation and immune cell function. Anti-Transforming Growth Factor-β1 antibody can be used in neutralization assay. Chicken anti-TGF β1 reacts specifically with recombinant human TGF-β1 or TGF-β1.2.
Specificity
The antibody will neutralize the biological activity of recombinant human TGF-β1 and porcine TGF-β1.2.
Immunogen
Recombinant human TGF-β1 expressed in CHO cells.
Application
Anti-Transforming Growth Factor-β1 antibody can be used in western blotting.
Physical form
Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.

A new homodimer form of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta), TGF-beta 2, has been identified in porcine blood platelets. TGF-beta 2 is homologous to ordinary TGF-beta (TGF-beta 1), which is also present in platelets. TGF-beta 1.2, a heterodimer containing one TGF-beta

This study examines the potential role of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) in the regulation of human T lymphocyte proliferation, and proposes that TGF-beta is an important autoregulatory lymphokine that limits T lymphocyte clonal expansion, and that TGF-beta production by

Type beta transforming growth factor-growth inhibitor (TGF beta/GI) causes normal human prokeratinocytes to arrest growth predominantly in the G1 phase of the cell cycle within 48 h after log phase cultures are exposed to the factor in serum-free medium. The

High concentrations of fetal bovine serum induced colony formation in soft agar by anchorage-dependent, nontransformed mouse AKR-2B and rat NRK cells. The colony-stimulating activity in fetal bovine serum was precipitated by 45% saturated ammonium sulfate and migrated in molecular sieve

Primary monolayer cultures of adult rat hepatocytes can be induced to undergo DNA synthesis in serum-free medium in the presence of insulin, glucagon, and epidermal growth factor (three factors). We have found that hepatocyte DNA synthesis is affected not only
