General description

Mouse macrophage inflammatory protein-1β (MIP-1β) is a 7.8 kDa protein containing 69 amino acid residues. It plays an important role in the inflammatory response of blood monocytes and tissue macrophages.
MIP-1β is mainly generated by monocytes and lymphocytes. It is a member of CC family of chemokine intercrine cytokine. MIP-1β shares 70% similarity with MIP-1α. It is localized to a number of tissues such as smooth muscles, monocytes, neutrophils, mast cells, fibroblast B and T lymphocytes.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Macrophage inflammatory protein-1 β (MIP-1β) promotes myelopoietic cellular growth and induces leukocyte chemoattraction. MIP-1β is an effective HIV infection suppressor.

Physical form

Lyophilized without any additives.

Reconstitution

Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
