IL-15 stimulates the proliferation of T lymphocytes and shares many biological properties with IL-2. IL-15 exerts its biological activities primarily on T cells. It is also essential in the development, survival and activation of NK cells. Increased expression of IL-15 has been implicated with rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowl disease and diseases affiliated with retroviruses HIV and HTLV-I. Recombinant rat IL-15 is a 13.5 kDa protein consisting of 115 amino acid residues
Physical form
Sterile filtered and lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute in 50 mM Tris, pH 8.5 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 μg/μL. The solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Ex vivo-expanded CD8(+) T cells used for adoptive immunotherapy generally acquire an effector memory-like phenotype (TEM cells). With regard to therapeutic applications, two undesired features of this phenotype in vivo are limited persistence and reduced antitumor efficacy, relative to CD8(+)
