Biochem/physiol Actions

Terpendole E is a mitotic kinesin Eg5 (Kinesin-5) inhibitor isolated from Albophoma yamanashiensis that inhibits both motor and microtubule stimulated ATPase activities of human Eg5. Studies indicate that Terpendole E inhibits Eg5 mutants resistant to S-trityl-L-cysteine and other Eg5 inhibitors. Also, Terpendole E is an ACAT (Acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase) inhibitor.
