Biochem/physiol Actions

LUF6283 is a GPR109A (HCA2) partial agonist.
LUF6283 is a partial agonist of the hydroxy-carboxylic acid receptor 2 (HCA2; GPR109A). LUF6283 binds HCA2 with a Ki value of 0.55 mM, and an intrinsic efficacy for agonist activity of 76% of the full agonist effect of niacin. The EC50 values for niacin and LUF6283 are 0.41 and 3.1 mM, respectively. LUF6283 effectively lowers plasma lipid levels, but does not induce cutaneous flushing as observed with niacin treatment.
