Gene Information
mouse ... Cd28(12487)
General description
Cluster of differentiation 28 (CD28) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 2q33. The encoded protein is a co-stimulatory receptor expressed on naive T-cells. CD28 is characterized with a short cytoplasmic tail and two proline-rich motifs.
The hamster monoclonal antibody 37.51 reacts with extracellular domain of mouse CD28 costimulatory receptor, a 45 kDa homodimeric protein expressed by thymocytes, mature T cells and NK cells.
Immunogen
Mouse T cell lymphoma EL-4 cells
Application
The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution is 6 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Cluster of differentiation 28 (CD28) antigen has a role in T-cell activation, proliferation, survival and function. It modulates thymic development, peripheral homeostasis and the suppressive functions of regulatory T cells. CD28 has a role in signal transduction and is involved in activating many adaptor proteins. CD28 acts as a key regulator of immune system.
Features and Benefits
Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.
Physical form
Solution in azide free phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4; 0.2 um filter sterilized. Endotoxin level is less than 10 EU/mg of the protein, as determined by the LAL test.
