Anti-UGDH Antibody detects endogenous levels of total UGDH protein.
The UGDH (UDP-glucose dehydrogenase) gene is mapped to human chromosome 4p14.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human UGDH.
Immunogen Range: 391-440
Biochem/physiol Actions
UGDH (UDP-glucose dehydrogenase) catalyzes the dehydrogenation of UDP-glucose to form UDP-glucuronic acid, an important precursor for the glycosaminoglycan chain synthesis of proteoglycans. UGDH is involved in hyaluronan production, steroid elimination and glycosaminoglycan synthesis. UGDH is responsible for the development of circulatory system in different organisms.

UDP-glucose dehydrogenase (UGDH) provides precursors for steroid elimination, hyaluronan production, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis. The wild-type UGDH enzyme purifies in a hexamer-dimer equilibrium and transiently undergoes dynamic motion that exposes the dimer-dimer interface during catalysis. In the current study we created
