Anti-E2A Antibody detects endogenous levels of total E2A protein.
The E2A gene is mapped to human chromosome 19p13.3. The protein encoded is a T-cell factor/lymphoid enhancer factor transcription factor and belongs to helix-loop-helix family.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human E2A.
Immunogen Range: 321-370
Biochem/physiol Actions
The E2A protein is believed to undergo homo and heterodimerization, that is important for DNA binding. E2A promotes gene transcription by binding to a number of E box sequences. The E2A gene mediates the regulation of B lymphopoiesis. E2A is known to possess oncogenic function. Upregulation of the gene is observed in glioma tissues. It takes part in brain-tumor progression by preventing apoptosis and promote metastasis.
