General description

Anti-IRS-1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total IRS-1 protein.
Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) belongs to the IRS family. It is mapped to human chromosome 2q36.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human IRS-1.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) participates in the insulin signaling pathway. It is associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D). IRS1 regulates glucose homeostasis, body growth and peripheral insulin action.
