Anti-SESN1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total SESN1 protein.
Sestrins are stress-inducible proteins. The SESN1 (sestrin 1) gene is located on human chromosome 6q21.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human SESN1.
Immunogen Range: 271-320
Biochem/physiol Actions
Knockdown of SESN1 (sestrin 1) blocks cell cycle progression. Sestrin 1 acts as an antioxidant and as inhibitor of target of rapamycin complex 1. It is considered as a p53 target gene and it helps to connect between genotoxic stress, p53 and the mTOR signaling pathway.
