Anti-EDG1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total EDG1 protein.
EDG1 (endothelial differentiation gene )/S1P1 (sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1) is a transmembrane G protein coupled receptor. It belongs to the endothelial differentiation gene (EDG) family of receptors. It is mapped to human chromosome 1p21.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human EDG1.
Immunogen Range: 5-54
Biochem/physiol Actions
EDG1 (endothelial differentiation gene )/S1P1 (sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1) serve as an anti-apoptotic/pro-proliferative protein in AML (acute myeloid leukemia) cells. It is involved in angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis. It also acts as a pro-tumorigenic receptor.

Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a potent bioactive sphingolipid involved in cell proliferation, angiogenesis, inflammation and malignant transformation among other functions. S1P acts either directly on intracellular targets or activates G protein-coupled receptors, specifically five S1P receptors (S1PRs). The identified S1PRs differ
