Anti-DCT Antibody detects endogenous levels of total DCT protein.
Dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) is also termed as tyrosinase-related protein 2 (TYRP2). It is present in melanocytes, RPE (retinal pigment epithelium) cells and HaCaTs (basal keratinocytes). It is located on human chromosome 13q32.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human DCT.
Immunogen Range: 51-100
Biochem/physiol Actions
Dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) participates in the production of melanin in melanosomes and also in the detoxification of the melanin precursors. It restricts the destructions induced by chemotherapeutic agents like X-ray or UVB (ultraviolet B) and gamma irradiation in melanoma cells and reduces the susceptibility of cell to oxidative stress.
