Gene Information

human ... CSK(1445)

General description

The C-terminal Src kinase (CSK) gene is mapped to human chromosome 15q24.1. Anti-CSK Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CSK protein.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CSK.

Immunogen Range: 31-80

Biochem/physiol Actions

C-terminal Src kinase (CSK) is known to support dengue virus replication. CSK negatively controls Src, an oncogenic protein found to be upregulated in various types of cancer. CSK is responsible for Src phosphorylation at tyrosine 530, which inhibits its activity. It controls immune response, by preventing T cell activation through its association with lymphoid-specific phosphatase. CSK possesses SH2 domain, a regulatory domain that mediates its binding to scaffold proteins for membrane translocation. This regulation is known to elevate CSK′s activity.

Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) are key signal transducers involved in various cellular events such as growth, proliferation, and differentiation. Previous studies have reported that H2O2 leads to phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), one of the MAPKs in endothelial cells.
