Anti-HSP20 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total HSP20 protein.
Heat shock protein 20 (HSP20)/HSPB6 (heat shock protein family B member 6)) belongs to the small heat shock protein family. It is located on human chromosome 19q13. It is present in the brain, stomach, liver, lung, kidney, blood, smooth muscle, skeletal muscle and cardiac tissue.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human HSP20.
Immunogen Range: 5-54
Biochem/physiol Actions
Heat shock protein 20 (HSP20) is involved in asthma, intimal hyperplasia and insulin resistance. It controls myometrial activity. Overexpression of Hsp20 helps to increase cardiac function and provides cardioprotection against β-agonist-mediated apoptosis and ischemia/reperfusion injury ex vivo and in vivo.
