immunoblotting: 0.5-1 μg/mL using the C-terminal region of human recombinant CT-Pro ET1 peptide immunofluorescence: 5-10 μg/mL using A549 cells immunohistochemistry: 10-20 μg/mL using heat-retrieved formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human placenta.
Endothelin 1 (ET1) is an endothelium-derived peptide. It is synthesized as an inactive form of 212 amino acids and later converted to an active 21 amino acid peptide. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 6p24.1.
Endothelin-1 (ET-1), also known as Preproendothelin-1 (PPET1). PPET1 undergoes several proteolytic cleavages to yield ET-1. Endothelin-1 belongs to the Endothelin family of potent vasoconstrictor peptides. It consists of three structurally-related members, distinct in their pharmacological activities and distribution ET-1, ET-2 and ET-3.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of CT-Pro ET1, conjugated to KLH.
Application
Anti-CT-Pro ET1 (C-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit may be used in various immunochemical techniques including immunoblotting using the C-terminal region of human recombinant CTPro ET1 peptide (~5 kDa), immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Endothelin 1 (ET1) is a vasoconstrictor and is involved in pulmonary vascular homeostasis. ET1 has been linked to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension and endothelial dysfunction.
Endothelin-1 (ET-1) plays an important role in various tissues. It is involved in pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. Indeed, circulating ET-1 levels are increased in most cardiovascular diseases. The active ET-1 peptide and C-terminal-pro-ET1 (CT-pro-ET1) peptide plasma levels are elevated in heart failure and after acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and give prognostic information on mortality. CT-proET-1 may represent a clinically useful marker of prognosis after AMI.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Endothelin-1 is elevated in heart failure (HF) and after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and gives prognostic information on mortality. Another part of its precursor, C-terminal pro-endothelin-1 (CT-proET-1), is more stable in circulation and ex vivo. We investigated the cardiovascular prognostic
HIV infection is an independent risk factor for PAH, but the underlying pathogenesis remains unclear. ET-1 is a robust vasoconstrictor and key mediator of pulmonary vascular homeostasis. Higher levels of ET-1 predict disease severity and mortality in other forms of

Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is a potent vasoconstrictor produced by vascular endothelial cells, and a known marker of endothelial dysfunction. However, the acute and chronic effects of smoking and nicotine gum on the ET-1 response to acute physical stress in young healthy
Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are complex and polygenic diseases which are a real problem of public health. These syndromes require multidisciplinary studies to understand the pathogenesis mechanisms. Our study aims to evaluate the endothelin-1 (ET-1) serum concentration in Tunisian coronary
