immunoblotting: 0.5-1 μg/mL using C-terminal region of human recombinant CT-Pro ET1 peptide (amino acid 168-212). immunofluorescence: 5-10 μg/mL using A549 cells immunohistochemistry: 20 μg/mL using heat-retrieved formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human placenta sections
CT-Pro ET1 (C-terminal-Pro endothelin 1) is a 44 amino acid peptide.
Endothelin 1 (ET1) is an endothelium-derived peptide. It is synthesized as an inactive form of 212 amino acids and later converted to an active 21 amino acid peptide. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 6p24.1.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal region of CT-Pro ET1
Application
Anti-CT-Pro ET1 (Internal) antibody has been used in:
immunoblotting
immunohistochemistry
immunofluorescence
Biochem/physiol Actions
Circulating ET-1 levels are increased in most cardiovascular diseases. The active ET-1 peptide and CT-pro-ET1 (C-terminal-Pro endothelin 1) peptide plasma levels are elevated in heart failure and after acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and give prognostic information on mortality. CTproET-1 may represent a clinically useful marker of prognosis after AMI. Nevertheless, in hemodialysis patients, CT-pro-ET1 concentrations were not associated at all with mortality.
Endothelin 1 (ET1) is a vasoconstrictor and is involved in pulmonary vascular homeostasis. ET1 has been linked to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension and endothelial dysfunction.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Endothelin-1 is elevated in heart failure (HF) and after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and gives prognostic information on mortality. Another part of its precursor, C-terminal pro-endothelin-1 (CT-proET-1), is more stable in circulation and ex vivo. We investigated the cardiovascular prognostic
Vasopressin, endothelin and adrenomedullin are vasoactive peptides that regulate vascular tone and might play a role in hypertensive diseases. Recently, laboratory assays have been developed to measure stable fragments of vasopressin, endothelin and adrenomedullin. Little is known about their diagnostic
HIV infection is an independent risk factor for PAH, but the underlying pathogenesis remains unclear. ET-1 is a robust vasoconstrictor and key mediator of pulmonary vascular homeostasis. Higher levels of ET-1 predict disease severity and mortality in other forms of

Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is a potent vasoconstrictor produced by vascular endothelial cells, and a known marker of endothelial dysfunction. However, the acute and chronic effects of smoking and nicotine gum on the ET-1 response to acute physical stress in young healthy
Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are complex and polygenic diseases which are a real problem of public health. These syndromes require multidisciplinary studies to understand the pathogenesis mechanisms. Our study aims to evaluate the endothelin-1 (ET-1) serum concentration in Tunisian coronary
