Non-SMC condensin II complex subunit H2 (NCAPH2) is one of the subunits of the condensin II complex. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 22q13.
Immunogen
a human NCAPH2 (full-length) recombinant fusion protein
Application
Monoclonal Anti-NCAPH2 antibody produced in rat has been used in immunostaining.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Non-SMC condensin II complex subunit H2 (NCAPH2) binds to mitotic chromosomes and is associated with mitosis. Mutations in the gene encoding NCAPH2 have been shown to impair T-cell functions in mice. The NCAPH2 gene is associated with mitosis and meiosis, which predicts that its methylation influences apoptosis of neural cells. NCAPH2 methylation causes loss of hippocampal function and cognitive dysfunction leading to progressive dementia.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

We report a 5-year-old boy with mental retardation, autistic features, epilepsy, developmental delay, atopic dermatitis and abnormal immunological findings, carrying a 7.9 Mb de novo deletion of chromosome 22q13.2→qter. This region contains the SHANK3, NCAPH2 and CYP2D6 genes which are
A novel role for the condensin II complex in cellular senescence.
Condensins I and II are five-protein complexes that are important for the condensation of chromatin. They are essential for mitosis and important for regulating gene expression during interphase. Here, we investigated the transcription and translation of the mouse Ncaph2 gene
