Claudin-3 (CLDN3) is located on the human chromosome at 7q11.23.
Specificity
Anti-Claudin-3 recognizes human and rat Claudin-3.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal sequence of rat Caludin-3, conjugated to KLH
Application
Anti-Claudin-3 antibody produced in rabbit may be used in:
immunoblotting
immunohistochemistry
immunofluorescence
Biochem/physiol Actions
Claudin-3 (CLDN3) promotes interactions with other cells in vivo that prevent growth and metastatic potential by assisting the expression of E-cadherin and limiting β-catenin signaling. CLDN3 represents a promising target for cancer detection, diagnosis and therapy. Overexpression of CLDN3 is associated with several neoplasias, such as ovarian, breast, prostate and pancreatic cancers. CLDN3 levels are increased in lung adenocarcinoma cells.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Storage and Stability
For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
