Gene Information

General description

Monoclonal Anti-EXOC2 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma 5S8A10 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice. Exocyst complex component 2 (EXOC2) gene is located in the human chromosome at 6p25.3. EXOC2 protein is a component of the large multiprotein complex.

Specificity

Monoclonal Anti-EXOC2 recognizes human, monkey, chicken, dog, hamster, rat and mouse EXOC2.

Immunogen

recombinant protein corresponding to full-length rat brain EXOC2 subunit

Application

Monoclonal Anti-EXOC2 antibody produced in mouse may be used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunocytochemistry
  • flow cytometry
  • immunofluorescence

Biochem/physiol Actions

Exocyst complex component 2 (EXOC2) is involved in vesicle trafficking and maintenance. It is also involved in the intercellular transfer of viral proteins and virions. EXOC2 is responsible for host defense and regulation of cell death. It interacts with Ral proteins, which is involved in cell polarity, cell motility and cytokinesis. Mutations in the EXOC2 gene is associated with dysmorphism, brain abnormalities and developmental delay. It is also associated with epilepsy and poor motor skills.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For extended storage, freeze at -20 °C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing,or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
