Gene Information

human ... EXOSC10(5394)

General description

Exosome component 10 (EXOSC10) also known as RRP6 and PM/SCL-100, is a catalytic component of the eukaryotic RNA exosome. EXOSC10 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 1p36.22. EXOSC10 protein is located in the nucleus of the cell. EXOSC10 protein belongs to the family of RNase D family.

Specificity

Anti-EXOSC10 (C-terminal) recognizes human EXOSC10.

Immunogen

peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human EXOSC10, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence differs by 2 amino acids in mouse and rat.

Application

Anti-EXOSC10 (C-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit may be used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunofluorescence

Biochem/physiol Actions

Exosome component 10 (EXOSC10) catalyzes 3′-to-5′ exoribonuclease activity on various nuclear transcripts, such as ribosomal RNA subunits and RNA that has been poly-adenylated by Trf4/Air2/Mtr4 polyadenylation (TRAMP) complex. It also catalyzes 3′-to-5′ exoribonuclease activity on other nuclear RNA transcripts predetermined for processing and degradation.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugationbefore use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
