Description

General description

Exosome component 7 (EXOSC7) protein is a component of the eukaryotic RNA exosome which is non-catalytic. The exosome is an evolutionary conserved multisubunit 3′ to 5′ exoribonuclease complex that exists both in the nucleus and cytoplasm. EXOSC7 protein forms the hexameric ring structure unit of the eukaryotic exosome. EXOSC7 protein is found excessively in epidermal progenitor cells. The EXOSC7 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 3p21.31.

Specificity

Anti-EXOSC7 (N-terminal) recognizes human, mouse and rat EXOSC7.

Immunogen

peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human EXOSC7, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence differs by a single amino acid in mouse and rat.

Application

Anti-EXOSC7 (N-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit may be used in immunoblotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Exosome component 7 (EXOSC7) functions in blocking the premature differentiation of progenitor cells. Exosome complex plays a role in the degradation and processing of cellular RNA.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
