Anti-MAN1C1 (internal) antibody produced in rabbit
~1.0 mg/mL, affinity isolated antibody
Synonym(s):
Anti-1,2-alpha-mannosidase IC, Anti-HMIC, Anti-MAN1A3, Anti-MAN1C, Anti-mannosidase, alpha, class 1C, member 1, Anti-pp6318, Anti-processing alpha-1,2-mannosidase IC
Anti- MAN1C1 (internal) is produced in rabbit using as immunogen a synthetic peptide of human MAN1C1 conjugated to KLH. Mannosidase α, class 1C, member 1 (MAN1C1), also known as MAN1A3, is a member of the glycosyl hydrolase 47 family. MAN1C1 is a type II membrane protein with sequence similarity to class I α1,2- mannosidases, which localizes to the Golgi apparatus membrane. MAN1C1 trims α-1,2-linked mannose residues from Man9GlcNAc2 to produce the Man5GlcNAc2 processing intermediate.
MAN1C1 is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 1p36.11.
Specificity
Anti-MAN1C1 (internal) recognizes human and rat MAN1C1.
Application
Anti-MAN1C1 (internal) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Altered expression of the MAN1C1 gene may lead to meningioma progression and recurrence.
Mannosidase α, class 1C, member 1 (MAN1C1) is involved in the maturation of Asn-linked oligosaccharides and quality control. MAN1C1 over-expression accelerates endoplasmic reticulum-associated protein degradation (ERAD) of terminally misfolded human null Hong Kong α1-antitrypsin.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide
Storage and Stability
Store at –20 °C. For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

Meningiomas are the most common primary brain tumors; they arise from the coverings of the brain. Although meningiomas are generally benign, some are more clinically aggressive, as reflected by their histopathological features or by their unexpected recurrence. We hypothesized that
