General description

Monoclonal Anti-MALT1 (mouse IgG2b isotype) is derived from the hybridoma 31E produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from the immunized BALB/c mice. The gene for mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1 (MALT1) is located on human chromosome 18q21 and encodes for a human paracaspase. It is characterized by a death domain in its amino terminus, two immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domains, and a p20-caspase-like domain in its carboxyl terminus.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1 (MALT1) acts as an important regulator of adaptive immune responses in vivo and is essential for functional T-cell activation, proliferation and cytokine production. The activation of MALT1 is physiologically mediated by B cell lymphoma 10 (BCL10), which forms a complex with MALT1, promoting the oligomerization and activation of the caspase-like domain. In vivo and in vitro studies suggest that the MALT1-BCL10 complex mediates nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) activation in response to surface antigen receptor activation in both B and T cells. The most common is the translocation t(11;18)(q21;q21) which results in a fusion of the cellular inhibitor of apoptosis protein 2 (cIAP2) region on chromosome 11q21 with the MALT1 gene and is present in more than one-third of cases.

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze at -20°C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing,or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discardedif not used within 12 hours.
