Exportin 5, also known as XPO5, Exp5 or Ran-binding protein 21, is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 6p21.1. XPO5 belongs to the human karyopherin (Kap)β family. Structurally, Exp-5 has a ring-shaped closed conformation.
Specificity
Anti-Exportin 5 (N-terminal), recognizes human Exportin 5.
Application
Anti-Exportin 5 (N-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for use in:
immunoblotting
immunoprecipitation
immunofluorescence
Biochem/physiol Actions
Exportin 5 exports RNA such as viral hairpin RNAs, tRNAs and pre-microRNAs, which are likely to be its major endogenous cellular RNA cargos. Loss-of-function mutation in the gene leads to microsatellite instability.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Storage and Stability
For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
