Gene Information

human ... PANK2(80025)

General description

pantothenate kinase 2 (PANK2) gene is mapped to human chromosome 20p13-p12.3.[1][2] The gene codes for a mitochondrial protein PANK2.[2]

Immunogen

PANK2 purified recombinant protein

Biochem/physiol Actions

PANK2 acts as a key regulatory enzyme in coenzyme A biosynthesis.[3] Mutation in the gene is associated with the development of neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA).[2][1]

Physical form

Solution in Dulbecco′s Modified Eagle′s Medium with 10% fetal calf serum and 15 mM sodium azide.
