General description

cAMP-dependent protein kinase type II-alpha regulatory subunit (PRKAR2A) is a regulatory subunit of a heterotetrametric protein, protein kinase A (PKA).. It exists as RIIα isoform of type II PKA. It is located on the human chromosome 3p21.3−p21.2.

Immunogen

PRKAR2A purified recombinant protein

Biochem/physiol Actions

cAMP-dependent protein kinase type II-α regulatory subunit (PRKAR2A) mediates the sub-cellular association by interacting to specific A-kinase anchoring proteins. It plays a key role in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) signaling in eukaryotic cells, regulation of metabolism and cell growth. It is implicated in the protein transport from endosomes to the Golgi apparatus and further to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).

Solution in Dulbecco′s Modified Eagle′s Medium with 10% fetal calf serum and 15 mM sodium azide.
