Gene Information

human ... GLRA2(2742)

Immunogen

Recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 216 of Glycine Receptor alpha 2 according to NP_002054

Application

Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: IHC-Fr: Assay-dependent dilution, IHC-P: 1:100-1:1000, WB: 1:1000-1:10000. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The glycine receptor consists of two subunits, alpha and beta, and acts as a pentamer. The protein encoded by this gene is an alpha subunit and can bind strychnine. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
