Gene Information

human ... MYF5(4617)

General description

Myogenic factor 5 (MYF5) regulates the determination of skeletal myoblasts during embryonic development. Inactivation of MYF5 in mice results in abnormal development of the ribs, which eventually leads to perinatal death. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 12q21.

Immunogen

Peptide with sequence PECNSPVWSRKSST from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_005584.1.
