V-set domain containing T cell activation inhibitor 1 (VTCN1), also known as B7-H4, is a co-stimulating molecule. It is part of the B7 superfamily and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 1p13.1.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence C-SKGKGNANLEYK from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_078902.2.
Biochem/physiol Actions
V-set domain containing T cell activation inhibitor 1 (VTCN1) has a role in T-cell mediated immune responses. It suppresses T-cell action by inhibiting cytokine secretion and the proliferation of cells. VTCN1 has a role in pancreatic cancer and it also promotes tumor immune invasion.
