Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4) is a transcription factor and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 22q13.1.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence C-EEVRKARGKKRVP from the C Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_001666.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4) acts as a master modulator of cellular adaptation to stress responses. It regulates the transcription of genes related to amino acid synthesis and import, redox balance and angiogenesis. The protein also has a role in the regulation of lipid metabolism. ATF4 is part of the unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway, which is activated in Alzheimer′s disease.
